Job Summary:

We are looking for an in-office Insurance and Authorization Specialist who will work with Intake and Agency teammates and any external authorization and verification vendors to ensure our processes and workflows are executed efficiently so that our patient goals are achieved and revenue maximized. You will guarantee internal and external team and customer satisfaction through great communication, data efficiency, and capturing reimbursement.


Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Accurate and timely completion of insurance verifications by contacting the provided insurance via phone, fax, or online portal to obtain benefits, eligibility, and authorization information.
  • Address and respond to authorization or verification-related queries.
  • Timely submission of authorization requests while following payer-specific guidelines.
  • Ensure all authorization and verification-related denials are addressed timely and accurately, providing denial prevention feedback to Intake and agency as required.
  • Work with billing contractors to resolve billing issues.
  • Complete medical records requests. 
  • Assist in ADR's and denial appeals. 
  • Complete monthly eligibility verification and partner with the Haven team to ensure follow-up is completed for ineligible results.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Must have experience with Home Health Intake and/or insurance verification
  • Demonstrate flexibility in responding to priorities and organizational change
  • Ability to work under time constraints and follow through on assignments
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience with medical insurance billing and authorizations required
  • Proficient multi-tasker and efficient at prioritizing timelines
  • Customer service experience with good written and verbal communication skills
  • Solution-focused mindset, great critical thinking and analytical skills
